The Lantern :: A monthly Newsletter from Aneita Fern - The Home of Stickley
Raffle Extended!
Due to tremendous response, our raffle for a chance to win a print of our generational rocking chair illustration signed and embellished by the artist has been extended. Tickets are only $20 and all proceeds go to benefit Ovarian Cancer Research and honor the memory of Aneita Fern Combs, Founder [1907 – 1989]. We are very excited to be raising money for this great charity and the lucky winner will be thrilled to have this piece of art in their collection.

Update Your Home for the Holidays
In 100-plus-degree heat, the holidays are probably the last thing on your mind. But think good thoughts and pretend the warmth is coming from a crackling fireplace while you gather with friends and family over great food and festive cheer. That’ll get you in the spirit! And if you want to have new Stickley furniture in time for the season, now’s the time to get your orders in. Construction takes about 120 days, so there’s no time to spare if you want to open gifts on a great new sofa or read the kids a favorite book from a cozy new chair.

This month’s Design Tips with Jeff focuses on a common decorating dilemma: how to hang artwork. Should it be high? Should it be low? Should it be matted and framed or grouped for a show? Don’t worry, there aren’t any rhymes in this video, but plenty of helpful tips on making a dramatic impact with the art you already own, as well as new purchases to add to your collection.

Don’t Mess with Taxes
It’s the second-most-wonderful time of the year: Tax-free Weekend! While you may not want to send your children off to school with supplies this fancy, they still qualify for the tax break. Our gorgeous Acme pens and pencils make a nice gift for anyone, but particularly a high-school or college student. Or anyone with a love of fine writing instruments, for that matter.

Building a Better Education
Just in time for back-to-school, inspire the little ones in your life with Froebel Blocks. Children of all ages learn the fundamentals of structure and design without even realizing they’re learning. These blocks are so well respected, they even teach workshops at the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. And who wouldn’t love to have a budding architect in the family?

Tie One On
OK, hear us out on this one. We have some gorgeous new rugs and wall hangings made of men’s neckties. Yes, you read that correctly. Now before you think this is some craft project gone horribly awry, we assure you it’s anything but. Stop in today and see these beautiful creations from Dream Weavers in person. You’ll want one for every room in your home. We just don’t recommend wearing one to your next business meeting.
Ka-ching. Ka-ching.
